 How do I register for the conference?

You can register for the conference here . Please note that early bird registration is open until 1 May 2017. The last day to register for the conference is 10 June 2017.

When is the programme available?

How do I submit my paper?
Your paper should be no more than 9,000 words and should be submitted by 10 June 2017. Please email your paper to: with your name and panel number in the file title (e.g., Panel A1 Agarin).
Where am I going? How do I get there?
Transportation from Larnaca airport to Nicosia:

  • Larnaca airport shuttle will take you to Kapnos Airport Shuttle terminal in Nicosia. It runs every hour. Here  you can find the timetables for the Shuttle. From the Kapnos terminal to the hotels there are taxis.
  • Taxi 1-4 passengers 43€, 6 passengers 55€, estimated costs
  • Minibus 1-11 passengers 75€
  • Handicap Vehicle 1-4 passengers 80€

Getting to the University:

  • Buses in the summer run infrequently (every 30-45 minutes, less on Sundays). The bus station at Solomou square is central to the hotel district. Take bus number 259 to campus (bus 150 will also get you there, only much slower); the ride takes at least 15-20 minutes.  Tickets are €1.50. Timetables available for all buses here. The timetable for Bus 259 is here.
  • Note that the last bus from campus on Saturday and Sunday leaves around 18:00.
  • Taxi is the easiest way to get to the university (for four people will cost around 10-12 euros max and can share)

On campus:

All concurrent panels will take place in the XWD02 building (Χ Ω Δ 02).

The keynote, roundtable, and wine receptions will take place in the Leventis Building (Κ Α Λ 01).

Look for the IPSA signage to get from Leventis to XWD02.

How are the panels organized?

Paper-givers will have 12-15 minutes to give an overview of their paper, highlighting their findings, methods, and purpose and significance of the study. Discussants will have 10-12 minutes to comment on the contributions of papers and to identify connecting themes. Chairs will open and close the session, keep participants to time, and facilitate discussion with the audience. Papers are due by June 10 and will be circulated to panel members at that time.

Will there be powerpoint available?

Yes, each room should have powerpoint capability. Please bring a copy of your presentation saved on a flash drive.

Is there wifi available?

Anyone with a university affiliation can log into the eduroam wifi. To do so, enter your home university email address and password when prompted.

Can I live-tweet the panels?

Of course! If you do decide to tweet about the conference please use the hashtag #ipsaCY17

Is there a conference dinner?

Yes, the conference dinner will be held at the restaurant Polychoros 77 on Sunday evening at 20.00. Please register for the dinner in advance on our registration page.

The restaurant is located at 75-77 Faneromenis str. across from the Bank of Cyprus and the Rooms to Contemplate art exhibit.

Is there a group excursion?

In conjunction with the Cyprus Tourism Organization, we are pleased to offer a group excursion on Tuesday, June 27 to Limassol-Curium archaeological site; Pafos and Aphrodite’s rock. We will also stop for lunch in Pafos (lunch buffet available for purchase). Space is limited.

We will depart from OXI square at 10.30am and return around 19:00.

Can I still register for the group excursion? 

There is currently a waitlist for the excursion.

When will I know about my travel funding request?

IPSA Research Committees will be in touch with applicants with decisions on funding requests by the end of April 2017.

Do you offer a student bursary?

While we do not offer a bursary, we do have lower registration fees for students. Participants seeking further assistance are advised to contact their relevant research committee. If you hold PSA UK membership and are an early career researcher/PhD student, please contact the organisers at for further information.

I am not attending all days, can I get a discount on the registration fee?

No, the fee is the same even if you are unable to attend all days. Please notify us if you are unable to attend all days.

I volunteered to be a chair or discussant. Which panel am I on?
